Description:

Groove Games is currently recruiting Quality Assurance Video Game Testers. If you are at least 18 years old, have a passion for games, attention to detail, good logic and writing skills - you may have what it takes to become an excellent game tester. The position is part time game testing (10:00am to 6:00pm).

Position Duties:

· Thorough testing of all aspects of our Groove products including play balance, functionality, logic, statistics, performance, interface design, documentation, and entertainment value. This is accomplished using a balance of both functional checklists and ad hoc testing.

· Identification and documentation of defects in our bug database. Prioritizing and documenting information in a clear and precise way that is easily understood by both the test team, QA lead , production, and development team.

Position Requirements:

· Experience and a good understanding of Xbox Live and related software and hardware
· Experience with Playstation 2 related software and hardware
· Ability and patience to perform detailed testing.
· A sharp eye for detail and the capacity to stay focused on designated tasks.
· Must possess analytical problem solving/trouble shooting skills. This does not stop at identifying the problem, but involves experimentation using available information to try to narrow the possibilities of a defect and determine a solution.
· Must possess excellent spoken and written communication skills.
· Punctuality and strong work ethic.
· Must work well with a team and be able to solve problems with a team.
· Ability to give and accept positive as well as negative feedback.
· Proficient typing skills.
· Able to cope with flexible and sometimes demanding work hours.
· Working knowledge of Windows operating system and related hardware.
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Working knowledge of communications, on-line services and the Internet.

Additional Preferred Requirements:

· Preferred working knowledge of networking services and related hardware.
· Preferred working knowledge of windows dos console commands.

Producer:

Responsibilities

· Manage all aspects of the production of a game from concept to completion.
· Responsible for game asset management. Help track/organize the development pipelines such as the art, animation, cinematics, programming, design, scripting, or sound.
· Manages the production to QA pipeline for the assigned project(s).
· Coordinate and track marketing needs for the assigned project(s).
· Communicate with Developers, setting proper milestones and reviewing/approving milestones.
· Aid in managing production testing, internal QA approvals, licensor approvals, localization, archiving, and other aspects of game production.
· Communicate with Groove Games management to report status and project progress, and make sure product maintains high visibility throughout the company.
· Identify weaknesses, bottlenecks, and risks in the schedule, and troubleshoot communication and schedule dependency problems alongside the producer.
· Creation and editing/proofing of game manuals, coordinating with outsource companies.
· Regardless of the Producer’s specific assignment, functions usually encompass scheduling, task tracking, organizing, coordinating & managing issues and personnel.
· The position may involve corporate travel to conferences, tradeshows, etc. and may involve off-site work at development studios.
· Other such tasks as necessary.

Requirements

· 5-7 years of industry experience.
· At least 2 shipped AAA title for current generation technology.
· Creative with a passion for games.
· Previous experience on fighting or action-adventure titles.
· Excellent understanding of asset tracking tools.
· Must be able to work under tight schedules, lead both people and content pipelines.
· Clear and concise communications skills both written and oral – writing samples required.
· Outspoken demeanor and leadership skills.
· Self-motivated and self-managed.
· Excellent organization skills and planning skills
· Ability to create and maintain a clearly written and detailed game design document.
· Bachelors degree.

Customer Care Representative (CCR):

Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative for an exciting new online gaming service, you will be responsible for communicating directly with our end-users. You are comfortable using web-based chat applications, and are prepared to learn proprietary software. You are familiar with trouble-ticketing systems and understand the need for speed and efficiency when working with support requests. You are reliable, punctual and have strong problem-solving skills. You are skilled at multi-tasking and are capable of keeping track of many different issues at any given time. You are willing to do shift-work, and are ready to work longer shifts (greater than 8 hours) if required.

An interest in First-Person-Shooter, Racing, Fighting, etc. videogames, both online and offline, is an asset!

Qualifications:

· Above average PC and typing skills
· Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
· Excellent verbal & written communication skills
· Superior customer service skills
· Strong experience with web communications (chat, email)
· Previous customer service experience an asset
· Interest / experience in gaming an asset
